Venture capital is not a game of money but a game of talent
I saw many VC investors who were playing a game of money. They just raised money from LP and established VC funds to invest in small startups and make them scale up to grow exponentially and finally exit from those startups. This is a typical scenario of VC. But I do have a different perspective in the VC world. I do think VC is all about finding talents and nurturing them as outstanding teams. Most VCs are talking about numbers related to investment money. They are playing a game of money in the startup realm. I saw this kind of VCs are mostly failed in their investments. Because intrinsic and core assets in a startup are not about the quantity of money but about the quality of talents that you invest in. The quality of talent will decide everything on startup success.
- Wise VCs are willing to lose their money to earn the talent in their circle for long-term investments
- Stupid VCs are willing to earn money rather than willing to earn the talent in their circle.
